Latest from the Cajun Crier

Acadiana, or the Heart of Acadiana (Cajun French: L’Acadiane), is the official name given to the French Louisiana region that is home to a large Francophone population. Much of this population now identifies as Cajun, and their French ancestors played a large part in bringing Cajun cuisine to Louisiana, by adapting their recipes to include whatever was available to them in their new settlement.

Every African American family has their own stories, traditions, and cultural influences that provide interest and intrigue to their recipes, and Lady Jambalaya’s family is no different. We are deeply proud of our Cajun roots, and with the Cajun Crier, we seek to share our past, present, and future with members of our community.
